About

GAMMA - LAB DEVELOPMENT, S.L. was established in Spain to act as a distributor of Russian-produced stable isotopes and radioisotope products to the world market for use in science, industry and medicine. We are serving Mössbauer community as well as other scientific research and medical communities for over 10 years.
GAMMA - LAB DEVELOPMENT, S.L. employs skilled personnel ensuring interaction between manufacturers and direct consumers of isotopic products all over the world. Long-term and successful experience of cooperation with leading Russian manufacturers is a guarantee of quality of the products, which we offer to our customers.
GAMMA - LAB DEVELOPMENT, S.L. guarantees as follows:

  • high quality products at reasonable prices;
  • deliveries of products all over the world

GAMMA - LAB DEVELOPMENT, S.L. works in close cooperation with the following Russian manufacturers and companies:

  • Cyclotron Co., Ltd., Obninsk, Russia;
  • Russian National Research Center (RNRC) Academician A.Leipunsky Institute of Physics & Power Engineering Obninsk, Russia;
  • RNRC L.Karpov R&D Physicochemical Institute, Obninsk branch, Russia;
  • Scientific and Production Firm Nuclide-Trans Ltd., Moscow, Russia;
  • Scientific and Production Firm Alpha-Labl Ltd., Moscow, Russia.

The Cyclotron Co., Ltd. was established on the basis of the cyclotron isotopes department of the State Scientific Center Institute of Physics and Power Engineering in 1991.

The main tasks of the enterprise are the following: development of the technologies and production of radioactive isotopes and radiation sources on their basis for medical and industrial applications, as well as research activities.

Radioactive isotopes are produced using two cyclotrons.
Cyclotron
The first cyclotron, U-150 accelerates protons up to energy of 20-23 MeV. The average current of the internal beam on the target during irradiation is to 1100 μA. The radionuclide production on this plant is carried out using the following nuclear reactions: (p,2n), (p,pn), (p,2p).

The second one, RITC-14 accelerates protons up to energy of 14 MeV. The average current of the internal beam on the target during irradiation is to 1500 μA. To produce radioactive isotopes on this accelerator (p, n)-nuclear reaction is used.
Cyclotron2

Radiochemical section has 7 heavy boxes (hot cells) with lead shielding thickness from 50 to 150 mm. They are supplied with manipulators for a remote manual operation. Manufacturing technologies of more than 20 radionuclides as radiochemicals have been developed at the enterprise. The mains of them are: Co-57, Ga-67, Ge-68, Pd-103 and Cd-109.

Advantages of the cyclotron radionuclides are a high specific activity and high radionuclide purity.

The enterprise also produces different types of radiation sources:

  • Mössbauer sources with Co-57 in rhodium and chromic matrix used in nuclear gamma-resonance spectrometry.
  • Gamma ray line sources on the bases of Ge-68 for an application in the positron emission tomography systems.
  • X-ray and gamma ray sources on the bases of Co-57 and Cd-109 for XRF analysis and technological control.
Manufacture of radioactive products is carried out on the basis of the License of the Nuclear Safety Supervisor Agency of Russia.

Supplies of the products are performed in the packaging UKT1A.

All radioactive products manufactured by Cyclotron are certified in OIT certification system (system of certification of equipment, products and technologies for nuclear installations, radiation sources and their storage places).

The enterprise is accredited in the System of Accreditation of Radiochemical Laboratory and OIT systems.

Cyclotron Co. is a member of UNISCAN/EAN Russia and has EAN Location Number 4600499999999 (bar-codes).

RNRC Institute of Physics & Power Engineeringis one of the largest Russian centers having own reactor facilities for getting radioisotopes, as well as radiochemical production facilities for producing radioactive isotopes for the medical industry, radio pharmaceutical products, medical-use generators of short-lived isotopes, ionization radiation sources, labeled compounds. The Institute possesses a rather unique scientific and technological basis enabling to develop novel technologies and arrange productions of various radioisotope items of the medical, medico-biological, scientific and other application.
The Obninsk branch of the RNRC Physicochemical Institute boasts of the state-of-the-art experimental and research complex including a research reactor, electron accelerators with a wide power and current range, plants for rendering various services in the field of radiation technologies, as well as a good number of other research and processing facilities.
The Nuclide-Trans scientific and production firm was established in 1992 on the initiative of the RF Ministry for Atomic Energy. Among the founders were enterprises and organizations of RF Minatom, RF Ministry of Economics, RF Ministry for Health and Russian Academy of Sciences. The Company's main target is to provide health organizations with medical facilities, means of diagnostics, and medicines based on radionuclide materials. For solving the above tasks, all conditions have been created concerning the storage and processing of nuclear shipping casks, as well as their delivery to customers.
The Alpha-Labl scientific and production firm is a multipurpose research institution whose activity is focused on investigation and development of the process of manufacturing stable isotopes. A high scientific potential and technical equipment of the SPF Alpha-Labl allows to work highly-efficiently in the following directions:

  • research, design and engineering work while creating radioactive substances and articles on their basis, development of introduction of technologies for producing isotope products of various application for the needs of fundamental science, industry, medicines, and agriculture;
  • rental of stable isotopes to Russian R&D centers at moderate prices for holding fundamental research;
  • services concerning export/import of radioisotope products;
  • arrangement and execution of jobs relating to the production, sales, transportation and storage of radioactive substances and articles on their basis;
  • delivery of radioactive and stable isotopes as well as articles on their basis to home and foreign customers;
research of the world isotope markets followed by the estimation of prospects as concerns consumption of radioactive and stable isotopes.
